Local logistics company robbed of R1-m worth of headache tablets

According to police, no CCTV footage was found at the company premises

About R1-million worth of Grandpa tablets were stolen from a logistics company in Boksburg after three security guards were held at gunpoint.

The incident happened on July 12 at around 7.30pm.

According to Boksburg North police spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, it is alleged that a grey VW Polo with three occupants who had access cards made their way inside the premises.

“The security guards said they also saw another Nissan bakkie parked outside the gate. One of the men who was in the VW Polo showed his gun to one of the security guards while instructing him to open the gate for the Nissan bakkie and other two vehicles, a truck and an Iveco taxi,” said Ramaube.

He added four vehicles where loaded with 10 pallets of boxes containing Grandpa tablets.

About 12 suspects got away with the stock. Nobody was injured.

Ramaube said the security guards told the police that could identify two of the 12 suspects if they saw them again.

A case of business robbery was opened at the Boksburg North police station, investigations are continuing.
