BREAKING NEWS: Another motorist shot dead at Putfontein Road offramp
Details remain sketchy. This is a developing story
All emergency services are on the scene of a shooting at Putfontein Road offramp on the N12 where a black male motorist, believed to be in his 50’s, has been shot and killed.
The victim’s car, a Toyota Corolla, apparently broke down between 6pm and 6:30pm today (July 1) and he contacted someone to come and help him.
According to information from the Benoni CPF and other crime Whatsapp groups, when the friend arrived on the scene he found the victim shot dead.
According to Benoni SAPS spokesperson Captain Nomsa Sekele, both doors on the lefthand side of the car and the bonnet were found open.
Only a cellphone appears to be missing from the car.
It is reported at least 17 shell casings were found at the scene.
Police are urging witnesses to come forward.
