A victim fought back and shot one of the would-be robbers twice in the head and once in the stomach

Gun-related violence continues to claim lives in Boksburg as recent shooting incidents leave two men dead and a third seriously injured and fighting for his life in hospital.

Shot dead in Angelo
In the latest shootings, according to a Boksburg police report, a man, identified as Gledman Ndlovu, was gunned down as he was walking along one of the streets in Angelo informal settlement at about 7.30pm on May 1.
“Our members received a complaint of shooting and rushed to the scene where they found the man lying on the ground in a pool of blood. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his head, hand and leg. Sixteen cartridges and four projectiles were found on the scene around the body,” said the Boksburg SAPS spokesperson, Const Ntsako Ledwaba. He added the victim was certified dead on the scene by paramedics.
Taxi driver shoots robbery suspect dead
One of two robbery suspects was shot dead by the victim they were allegedly trying to rob near Balmoral College in Witfield on May 29, the police said.
“A taxi driver was walking along the street near the college on his way to collect his minibus taxi when two men approached and attempted to rob him. He fought back and shot one of the would-be robbers twice in the head and once in the stomach. The suspect died instantly and his accomplice managed to escape. It was later reported that the two would-be robbers are from Angelo informal settlement,” said Ledwaba.

Shot at Angelo station
Another man is fighting for his life in hospital after he was shot by a gang of about six men at the Angelo railway station on May 2.
“We are investigating a case of attempted murder after a group of about six men shot the victim three times, in his back, buttocks and left arm.
Women raped in Jerusalem
In another unrelated case, a woman was recently raped in one of the streets in Jerusalem informal settlement.
The woman told police that she was walking down the street at about 6pm on April 19 when a man covered her face with a cloth from behind and instructed her not to scream.
He then started to undress her and raped her before he fled the scene. Police are investigating a case of rape.
