High school head girl reminds the public to stay positive during lockdown

“We’re almost there, so let’s just continue to work hard and treat this as another challenge to be conquered and another story to our collection. Stay safe, we’ve got this.”

The head girl of Woodlands International College, Anastasia Argyrou, has a special message for the community and her Woodlands family during the lockdown.

When President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the lockdown had been extended by two weeks in a bid to combat the spread of the coronavirus, Anastasia, who is also the president of the Woodlands Interact Club, reminded people to remain positive during this uncertain time.

“It can be difficult to find motivation during this time, but we should use this opportunity to reflect on things we take for granted on a daily basis, like friends, family and the freedom to move around,” the head girl said.

She further remarked we should always see the best in every situation and that there is always a lesson to be learned if only you looked for it.

To her fellow matriculants, she said they had made it too far to give up now.

“We’re almost there, so let’s just continue to work hard and treat this as another challenge to be conquered and another story to our collection. Stay safe, we’ve got this,” she added.
