Kempton Park CBD bar owner arrested for selling liquor
A group of people outside the bar drew the police's attention
The owner of a bar on Kempton Road had been arrested for violating lockdown regulations on April 16.
According to Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson Capt Jethro Mtshali, police were patrolling the streets in the central business district around 10pm when they spotted a group of people exiting Assaba Bar.
“When they saw the police vehicle, they rushed back into the bar. The police followed and discovered the bar owner had been selling alcohol,” said Mtshali.
The owner was arrested and all the liquor was seized.
