CPF pampers the needy during Easter weekend

The forum is urging community members to make donations towards the feeding scheme, and expressed its gratitude towards those who are supporting the initiative.

The Boksburg North CPF made this Easter weekend special by donating Easter eggs, food and Easter hampers to the needy in First Strreet, Boksburg North.

Mark Gilpin, chairperson of Boksburg North CPF, explained they are still trying to feed underprivileged people in Boksburg North during the lockdown.

“We handed out Easter eggs, hampers, hot dogs, pap and vleis, cabbage stew, chicken a la king, sanitary towels, clothing and nappies to make these people’s Easter weekend better. Covid-19 and the lockdown have ramifications for South Africans, with the homeless being among the hardest hit. This is why we want to assist them during this difficult time.

“Despite the government’s continued and dedicated efforts to provide for the homeless, we noticed that homeless and needy people in Boksburg North have been without food for days. They to continue with their basic survival activity such as selling items for recycling,” he explained.

He urged the community to make donations towards the feeding scheme and expressed his gratitude towards those supporting the initiative, such as the community, Wild Waters, Shoprite, SPAR The Square, AfriForum, Makopano Risk Solution and Reaper Tactical Security.
