Thugs flee with expensive jewellery in Beyers Park

A case of house robbery was opened at the Boksburg North SAPS. None of the suspects have been arrested. Investigations are still continuing.

Five men robbed two houses in Beyers Park on February 26, where they assaulted a domestic worker and stole jewellery, wrist watches, laptop and other items.

According to Boksburg North police spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, both houses that were robbed are situated on the same yard.

Ramaube said a 91-year-old man, who is the owner of one of the houses, alleged that he was walking around the yard when an unknown vehicle pulled over at his gate with people inside.

“The men in the vehicle allegedly told the victim to open the gate if he didn’t want to die. The elderly man who then opened the gate said he was taken to his bedroom.

“While inside his bedroom, the men allegedly took his wrist watch, rings, cellphones and other valuable assets of jewellery,” said Ramaube.

At the second house, the domestic worker alleged that the robbers broke the door and assaulted her.

The domestic worker, who was alone at that time, further said that the men asked where her employer’s bedroom was.

“It is alleged that in the bedroom, they found a safe, forced it open and they took wrist watches, rings, a laptop and a gun, including other items estimated to be valued at R10 000,” said Ramaube.

The suspects who were driving a gold SUV vehicle with unknown registration plates are said to be between the ages of 35 to 45 years.
