Be vigilant, serial rapist still on the loose

The police believe the suspect and his accomplice live around the city and are appealing for any person who may know or suspect who is responsible to make contact.

Police in Boksburg are still hunting the serial rapist believed to be responsible for the series of rapes and robberies in Boksburg.

Early this month, police issued a warning about a suspected serial rapist on the loose in the wake of sexual attacks targeting women on social media.

The reign of terror by the man who is said to be part of a Facebook account called ‘Nay Maps Mxolisi From Uzalo’, is thought to have begun in November last year.

It has so far seen several women complaining of a man who coaxed them into secluded spots where he then raped and robbed them of their belongings.

According to the Boksburg SAPS spokesperson, Const Ntsako Ledwaba, the alleged serial rapist gains his victims’ trust with talks of job opportunities or love affairs. Residents, women in particular, are urged to be on their guard.

Ledwaba pointed out that there’s no way to be sure, but victims’ statements and the rapist’s modus operandi indicate the same person could be behind the sexual attacks.
