Protesting Windmill Park residents demand action from the metro

The SAPS police and metro officers have been deployed in the area to monitor the situation closely.

The Advertiser is aware of protest action by Windmill Park residents along Barry Marais Road, at the Windmill Park intersection, that is taking place today.

According to the community leader, Thembelani Dyantyi, they started protesting last night.

The community want their Ward 99 councillor, Mduduzi Luvalo, and his ward committee members to step down. They also want to occupy vacant pieces of land around the area.

“We will protest until someone from the mayor’s office comes and accepts our memorandum of grievances against the lack of service delivery and other issues in our areas,” Luvalo said.
