Boksburg CPFs on a roll following elections

The CPF is a group of people from different communities and police representatives who meet to discuss safety problems in their communities.

Boksburg Community Police Forums hit the ground running following the conclusion of their elections last November.

The CPF aims at ensuring police accountability, transparency and effectiveness in the community.

CPFs are established in terms of section 19 (1) of the SAPS.

All four CPFs in Boksburg (Boksburg, Boksburg North, Dawn Park, and Reiger Park) held their elections, according to Boksburg North CPF chairperson Mark Gilpin, who also liaises with the other three CPFs in town.

Each of the four police stations in Boksburg listed above has an executive chairperson and every sector within a particular area has a chairperson who then reports to the relevant police station’s chairperson.

Each of the four CPFs work closely with the four police stations in Boksburg.

The CPF general elections are held every five years, much like the country’s general elections.

To join a CPF, you must be a South African citizen older than 18 and you must have no criminal record.

CPF involvement is voluntary and is open to anyone and everyone.

The executive chairperson who oversees all Bokbsurg CPFs is Francois van Heerden. He may be contacted on anything related to the CPF on 082 852 9483.
