SPCA’s Christmas Cheer Fund to help with renovation of veterinary clinic

“The Boksburg SPCA Clinic serves a vital role in the community, not only for sterilisations but also for members of the community who cannot afford a private veterinarian."

The Boksburg SPCA raised R71 844 for its 2019 Christmas Cheer fund-raising drive.

The SPCA Christmas Cheer Fund ran from November 1 until the end of January.

They had a target of R60 000 but all thanks to various businesses and kind individual contributions, they exceeded their target.

The society received lots of support from the public compared to last year’s R38 725 raised.

The local SPCA thanks everyone who contributed to the fund in support of the furry friends at the Boksburg SPCA.

Sue Beadon, Boksburg SPCA secretary, said: “The Boksburg SPCA wishes to thank each and every animal lover who contributed to our fund. The society is very appreciative of all the donations from businesses as well as individuals.”

Beadon said the funds will go towards the renovation of the Boksburg SPCA veterinary clinic, indoor recovery medical kennels, as well as new gutters for the clinic.

“Without the Christmas Cheer fund the Boksburg SPCA would not have been able to afford these much-needed renovations,” said Beadon.
