Boksburg pastor accused of rape receives bail
The matter is being investigated by the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS).
The Boksburg pastor accused of raping a four-year-old child has been granted bail and will be returning to court on January 27.
The 53-year-old pastor was arrested on January 7 and charged with rape following allegations that he had raped a four-year-old girl inside a toilet in Reiger Park.
He made his first court appearance on January 8 in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court and the matter was postponed to January 16 for formal bail application, and that’s when he was released on bail and the matter postponed until next week Monday.
According to the Reiger Park SAPS report, the child’s mother opened a case against the pastor in November last year after it came to her attention that the accused had allegedly sexually harassed her child.
The child’s name and her mother’s name are being withheld to protect their identities.
