Yet another violence against women case is reported

This latest incident again places the spotlight on the importance of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children campaign that runs from November 25 to December 10.

A 28-year-old woman from Mapleton has become the latest victim of the rising cases of violence against women after she was stabbed to death by her lover at their rented home on November 4.

According to Dawn Park SAPS spokesperson, Const Nkemeleng Mabula, the boyfriend arrived at the Dawn Park SAPS around 1.15am and told the police that he had allegedly murdered his girlfriend.

“He led the police to the house where the body of the woman was found with stab wounds on the lower and upper body. The deceased woman also had an injury on her throat,” Mabula said.
