Driver braves carjackers, saves his car

The driver went straight to the Boksburg police station following the incident.

On October 26, a driver almost had his Polo 7 TSI stolen when he was confronted by a gang of carjackers as he was driving along Commissioner Street, near St Dominic’s school.

The drama unfolded when the complainant noticed a white Toyota Avanza driving the same direction as his car.

As he was slowing down to stop at the traffic light, a man jumped out of the Avanza, approached the Polo and pointed a firearm at him.

The complainant told the police that he ignored the gunman until he fired two shots, hitting two windows of the Polo.

The owner of the Polo managed to drive away unharmed.
