Driver caught in Boksburg for doing 213km/h on the N12 freeway

Those arrested were charged at Elsburg, Alberton, Boksburg north and Germiston police stations, on reckless and negligent driving and are expected to appear in the Germiston, Palmridge and Boksburg Magistrate’s courts soon.

 

The EMPD Speed Unit members apprehended seven drivers found speeding on the N17, N12 and N3 freeways situated in Elsburg, Alberton, Boksburg and Germiston over the weekend.

 

According to Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD spokesperson, on October 26 between 5am and 8am, two male drivers were arrested for clocking 166 and 213km/h in the Boksburg area, on the N12 direction east by Atlas off ramp

“The 40-year old male in a blue Audi A4 alleged that he was late for work, when stopped for pushing the sedan to 213km/h,” said Mokheseng,

“The other 29-year old male offender in a grey Nissan Qashqai, who had no reason to speed, was booked in at 6.30am for doing 166 on that 120km/h stretch.”

Other arrests were also made on the N12 freeway direction east between R59 and Voortrekker off ramp, on the N17 freeway direction east between Guthrie and Heidelberg bridges and on the N3 south freeway by Rand Airport off-ramp.
