Watch: Matrics say first English paper not that difficult

The National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations began on October 16 and will conclude with music on November 29.

Grade 12 learners from Hoërskool Voortrekker have breathed a sigh of relief after writing English Paper One on October 23.

The Advertiser caught up a few matric learners from Hoërskool Voortrekker after their examinations.

Some of the matrics said the paper was not difficult, but they had problems with time management.

Meanwhile, the Gauteng MEC for Education and Youth Developmen, Panyaza Lesufi, visited Parktown Boys’ High School to oversee the NSC exams.

“We would like to wish all our Grade 12 learners the best of luck and assure them that they have our full support. Learners are urged to conduct themselves with honesty during the exam.

“Cheating and other exam irregularities may result in a criminal record,” said Lesufi.

The Department of Education this year has registered a total of 111 775 full-time matric learners and 41 599 part-time learners.
