Two nabbed in the Boksburg area for speeding

The arrested speedsters face charges of reckless and negligent driving and will appear at Palmridge, Germiston and Boksburg Magistrate’s Courts soon.

The EMPD arrested two drivers over the weekend in the Boksburg area for speeding.

According to Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD spokesperson, between 9am and 10am, two drivers were caught doing speeds of 157 and 158km/h in a Toyota Fortuner and Audi A3  on the R21 freeway, direction south between Griffiths on-ramp and N12 bridge, respectively.

Mokheseng said the speed limit on this stretch of road is 100km/h.

Both offenders were taken to the Boksburg north police station.

These arrests follows general speed law enforcement throughout the metro over the weekend, with other drivers arrested.

This included a 21-year old man with a female passenger driving a grey Hyundai Getz, clocking 179km/h on the N12 freeway.
