A Boksburg man has been arrested for allegedly raping a two-year-old toddler in Reiger Park.
The Reiger Park SAPS spokesperson was not available to comment on the case, but according to a police report seen by this publication, the man and a boyfriend of the child’s mother, allegedly raped the child while the mother was at work on Tuesday.
When the mother arrived home at about 4.45pm, she found her boyfriend and the child sitting on the couch, and the accused apparently told the mother that the toddler was sick, suffering from diarrhoea, and had been vomiting.
The mother took the victim to the bedroom to change her nappy, and that’s when the child started to behave strangely, crying and trying to prevent her mother from touching her private parts.
On the following day, the mother took her to a hospital for medical attention, and that’s when a doctor discovered that the toddler had been sexually assaulted.
The doctor reportedly advised the mother to report the sexual abuse to the police.
The SAPS’ Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS), registered a case of rape, arrested the suspect, who, according to a police source, is a well-known member of one of the rival gangsters.
He is expected to appear at the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court this week.
