Two arrested for peddling drugs in Boksburg

The pair is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.

A week long surveillance by the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit of suspected drug dealers in Boksburg in the vicinity of Market Street yielded two suspects being found in possession of the drug crystal methamphetamine with the estimated street value of R3000.

According to Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD spokesperson, R500 in cash was also confiscated.

The arrests were made on Saturday, October 5 just before midday.

Mokheseng said one of the men (31) was found in possession of one ziplock of crystal meth worth R300.

“Within  minutes of the arrest, officers nabbed another man (38). The same team of officers arrested arrested the man for a similar crime in April this year.

“He was found in possession of nine ziplocks of crystal meth valued at R2700. The recovered cash was to believed to be proceeds from dealing in drugs.

Charges of possession and suspected dealing in illicit substances were laid against the arrestees at Boksburg police station.
