Burglars ransack properties in Boksburg

Below are some of the burglaries recently reported to the Boksburg police:

• Thieves entered the Boksburg Police Station and stole a radio, two cellphone chargers and stationery from one of the captains’ offices sometime between September 20 and 25.

The complainant, a senior police officer, reportedly said he exited his office and locked the door, but when he returned to work days later he discovered that some of the State’s property was missing. It appears the thugs forcefully opened the wooden door to gain entry. The stolen goods are insured.

• Thugs ransacked a house in Parklands Estate sometime between 5pm on September 20 and 3pm on September 28. The victim told police he left his home and went to his sister’s place in Parkdene, where he spent a couple of days.

He later returned home to find that thieves forcefully opened the bathroom window, entered the house and stole goods, including a white microwave, an HP computer screen and a computer tower. Stolen goods are not insured.

• Another residential property was ransacked in Parkdene on September 29. The burglars gained entry to the property by lifting the electronic gate off its rail and then forcefully opened one of the doors to enter the house, where they stole a Samsung 48-inch flat screen TV, a Dell laptop, hair-dressing equipment, a small electronic cash-boy, a hair clipper and jewellery.

• During the night on October 2, thieves forced their way into a residential property on Plomer Street, Parkrand, and stole valuable goods, including a TV set and a PlayStation. They forcefully opened one of the windows to gain entry. Stolen goods are insured.

• Thieves cut off the security gate of Atlas Finance on Commissioner Street and stole two computer screens, a kettle and groceries during the night of October 1. Stolen goods are insured.

• A Parkrand resident woke up in the morning of October 2 to find that thieves forced their way into his house while he was asleep and stole a Hisense TV set, a laptop and a DVD player. Stolen goods are insured.

• A resident of Boksburg CBD woke up at about 2am on October 1 to find that thieves entered his home on Market Street and stole his cellphone and groceries while he was asleep. The stolen items are not insured.

• In Sunward Park, thugs forced their way into a residential property on Heineman Road and stole valuable goods while the homeowner was asleep during 11pm on September 29 and 3.30am on September 30.

Laptops, a TV set and a wallet were among the insured stolen goods.
