Carjacking suspects arrested

The carjacking incident happened on September 22 after midnight in Eighth Street, Boksburg North.

Two suspects, aged 20 and 21, have been arrested, while another two suspects are still sought by the police for carjacking and possession of an unlicensed firearm.

According to Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube a 47-year-old victim alleged that while she was about to drop off a friend at Eighth Street they noticed a white VW Golf vehicle parked outside her friend’s gate.

“It is alleged that the friend advised the 47-year-old not to drop her at this specific gate but at another gate.

“However, at the second gate they were accosted and forcefully taken out of the vehicle,” Ramaube said.

According to the spokesperson, the two friends were reportedly held at gunpoint.

“After the incident, they reported the matter to the Boksburg North SAPS.

“The police managed to corner the vehicle and two suspects were arrested, but the other two managed to escape,” Ramaube said.

Police recovered an unlicensed firearm, live ammunition and the hijacked vehicle.
