The police are urging community members to come forward with information that can assist the police with their investigation.

The Boksburg North SAPS is on a manhunt for five men who allegedly killed one person and wounded another at a tavern in Lillianton around 10.50pm on September 14.

According to Boksburg North spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, a 22-year-old woman and her uncle were shot.

The woman died on scene.

“It is alleged a commotion ensued between five men and the security guard at the tavern when the group of men wanted to forcefully get inside the tavern.

“When the security guard tried to close the roller door to prevent the men from getting inside, one of the men who had a firearm fired three shots into the tavern,” Ramaube said.

Ramaube said one of the shots allegedly hit the woman in her head and she died instantly.

“The second shot hit her uncle, while the third shot didn’t injure anyone. It is alleged that after the suspect fired the shots they fled the scene.”

A case of murder and attempted murder was opened at the Boksburg North SAPS and investigations are still continuing.
