Wit Deep Primary School celebrates Women’s Month

In celebration of Women’s Month, the Grade Seven girls of Wit Deep Primary School were allowed to wear heels to school.

Wit Deep Primary School believes that Marilyn Monroe got it right when she said, “give a girl the right pair of shoes and she can conquer the world.”

Rochelle Pharo, from the school, said the empowerment of women was one of the themes of the day.

“It was a way to show the ladies that they’re women, and that they’re beautiful,” said Rochelle

“We want them to know that they’re strong, independent women and that they should embrace the power that is within them. “Girls should always be treated with the necessary respect.

“After assembly, the Grade Seven girls enjoyed a tea party.”

Hoërskool Voortrekker’s choir, and various schools from Reiger Park, performed as part of the celebration.
