Local residents cash in as Peermont CSi Awards winners

Impact was the theme for this year’s Peermont CSI Awards which was held at Emperors Palace.

Peermont Hotels Casinos and Resorts, which contributed over R39.4-million in 2018 alone to the communities surrounding its business units, held its fifth annual CSI Awards at Emperors Palace.

It highlighted how Peermont Hotels Casinos and Resorts’ properties, Trusts and CSI projects transform the lives of people from the communities around its different units.

Among the award recipients, here with Peermont trustee Thembekile Makhoba (third left), were these Boksburg and Vosloorus residents, Tshepo Selepe, Dillan Macpherson, Sarah Mohlala, Moeder Maake, Louisa Mabotja, Mita Buta and Lennon Naidoo. While Selepe and Naidoo were recognised for respectively obtaining their Bsc Actuarial Science and Bsc Mechanical Engineering degrees, thanks to scholarships from the Peermont Education Trust (PET), Macpherson was acknowledged for obtaining his Plumbing NQF Level 4 qualification, through the PET’s Lesedi programme. Mohlala, Maake, Mabotja and Buta are all from Nageng Primary School Aftercare Centre in Vosloorus which was named the “Top After-School Care Centre” supported by the Peermont Children’s Trust with the centre’s Maake receiving the “Practioner with the Most Initiative” award. Among the Boskburg residents recognised was Teboho Ramothibe for obtaining his BEng Electrical and Electronics Engineering degree thanks to a Peermont Education Trust (PET) scholarship.
