Drugs seized, suspects arrested in EMPD operations

The suspects will appear at the Palmridge, Boksburg and Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court's soon.

 

The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members conducted a crime prevention operation in Eden Park, Boksburg and in Villa Liza on Friday and Saturday, August 16 and 17, arresting four suspects found with drugs known as Khat, Nyaope and dagga. 

According to Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD media liaison officer, on Friday in Adderley Street, Boksburg, the DEU arrested a 29-year old male found with one knotted plastic containing Nyaope to the value of R150.

On Saturday, after 5pm in Villa Liza extension 2, officers raided and searched a house where the 37-year old male occupant was found with dagga warpped up weighing 112 grams, and also one ziplock of dagga with a mass of 59 grams valued at R500 and R210 cash were confiscated.

“The suspects were taken to Eden Park, Boksburg and Dawn Park police stations where they are facing charges of possession and dealing in narcotics.”
