Attend Boksburg CBD Urban Design Precinct Plan ‘open day’ this Saturday

Town planners will have access to the premises from about 8am to set up the presentation material and until about 1pm to pack up afterwards.

People with an interest in the Boksburg CBD are invited to take part in a public engagement meeting where they will exercise their right to give their opinions on the proposed Boksburg CBD Urban Design Precinct Plan.

The event will be held at the old town council city hall on July 27, and will run from 8am to 1pm.

The community participation meeting will have a public ‘open day’ format, which involves that parties interested in the proposed Boksburg CBD Urban Design Precinct Plan can attend the open day at their own convenience, at any time during the period set out for the public engagement.

During this period, material or plans pertaining to the proposed urban design precinct plan will be displayed in the venue, which will serve as basis for one-to-one engagements with interested parties, as and when they attend.

Thus, due to the format of the public engagement, a fixed meeting agenda will not be applicable. For this purpose, the intention is for the venue to be open to interested parties to attend at their own convenience between 9am to midday.

An initial meeting with a small group of prominent or key stakeholders was held on March 13.

People identified as key stakeholders with an interest in the Boksburg CBD include those who are prominent land owners, business owners, schools, and representatives for any interest group which may have an interest in the future development and well-being of the Boksburg CBD.

For more information on the meeting contact Ward 32 Clr Marius de Vos on 081 524 6950.
