Suspect nabbed with house break-in implements

The suspect was detained and charged with possession of house break-in implements as well as possession of suspected stolen property.

A 30-year-old suspect was arrested in the early hours of June 20 for possession of house break-in implements in Comet.

Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube said while two sector managers, Frans Ledwaba and Sgt Gerhard Derdriecks, were patrolling the area, they noticed four men.

“When the police approached them, they fled, but the officers managed to corner one of the suspects and he was arrested. On him the police found a bolt cutter, a wheel spanner, a tool box, hair products, a hair dryer and a kettle,” Ramaube said.

According to the spokesperson, during preliminary investigations, it was found that the suspect was linked to two other burglary cases.

The discovered items were confiscated and registered as evidence.

“The police are appealing to members of the public who have been victims of recent burglarie, to come to the Boksburg North SAPS to identify their stolen property,” Ramaube said.

He will appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
