Residents with good hearts generate hope

The need for help, compassion and assistance is growing in shocking demand.

On Fridays, a group of residents are getting together to feed and assist numerous people in the parking area opposite the Shoprite in Cason Road, Boksburg.

Trudie Pienaar started the feeding scheme in 2011 after breaking away from another NPO that operated in Brakpan.

Of late, Trudie has relocated but the volunteers has carried on with the Boksburg Feeding Scheme Cason Road till all paperwork to change the name has been finalised.

Trudie will still visit the feeding scheme from time to time and help wherever she can.

“In January we received donations from the public for stationery for about 50 children that needed school stationery. This is great, but we would like to change more lives in the future,” said Karin van der Merwe, a volunteer.

Numerous people are benefiting from the feeding scheme.

“There were about 200 people at our Easter dinner and we were fortunate to give them a warm meal.

“We are also planning to hand out blankets in June and in December we will be having a Christmas dinner and would like to give 200 people a gift.

“We are also happy to mention that in December 2018, Helena Loots from McMoo’s, gave our children an opportunity to have a special Christmas party and to experience the festive season in a joyful and wonderful environment.”

Boksburg Feeding Scheme Cason Road is also planning on painting this wall.

For more information phone Annemarie or Cobus on 084 662 7762 or Karin 081 443 6950 for more information.

Polystyrene cups, spoons, ice cream and yogurt bowls and blankets and clothing are needed.

“There are so many things that can help our people. Any donations are welcome.”
