Electrocuted body found in Anderbolt

This incident follows an EMPD officer being electrocuted at the Estera substation, in Stark Road.

An inquest docket has been opened at the Boksburg North SAPS after a body of a man, believed to be between the ages of 20 and 30, was found supine next to an electrical box.

The body was found on May 10 around 1pm in Anderbolt.

According to Boksburg North SAPS communications officer Const Justice Ramaube, when the police arrived on the scene, they discovered that the man had been electrocuted.

“Next to his body, the police found an orange school bag which contained tools such as a hacksaw and a spanner.

“According to a security guard who works around where the man’s body was discovered, he said he saw people pushing a big black wheelie bin, which was suspected to be carrying suspected stolen cables,” he said.

Ramaube highlighted that at this moment the police cannot point out exactly if there was any foul play around the circumstances of this man’s death as investigations are still continuing.

“We are appealing to the community to help us find the family of the deceased man.

“If there was anyone who has been reported missing recently, we urge family members who reported to come forward to the Boksburg North SAPS to identify the corpse,” Ramaube said.
