While it seemed that voting went well in Boksburg, it is also understood that the EFF caused tension at the voting station on North Rand Road.

- Althea Madelaine Pullen: “I was there in that line for almost two hours then just as I was at the entrance, the EFF barred the entrance. I ended up going to Concordia to cast my vote.”
- Danielle de Klerk: “EFF member at North Rand BMW station threatened to shoot us; they were in the voting tent complaining and not there to cast a vote, just to make trouble.”
According to Boksburg North SAPS communications officer, Justice Ramaube, voting proceeded without problems.
“There were people dressed up in EFF regalia chanting and signing next to the queue. However, that didn’t disrupt the voting process.
“Some of the voters raised their concerns with the presiding officer. The police called the EFF members and told them not to sing next to the queue as other people are not happy with their actions.
“They were then asked to move to an open space reserved for those who sing, and the queue continued smoothly,” Ramaube said.
