Thieves clean out properties in Boksburg

Below are some of the robberies recently reported to the Boksburg police:

• In Cinderella, thieves cleaned out a residential house during a break-in on April 25. The complainant told police a domestic worker was in the house carrying out her duties when a gang of thugs forced their way into the house on Botha Avenue and asked her to look away.

They stole electrical appliances, including laptops, a TV set, a tablet, cellphones, a sound system and others. The stolen goods are insured.

• In Sunward Park robbers held a woman to ransom during a house robbery on Hale Street on April 25. The gang of robbers, armed with a crowbar, forced their way into the house around 2pm and found the homeowner’s daughter in the sitting room, where they stole a TV set.

They then took her to one of the bedrooms where they stole a laptop and cellphone. The daughter was then taken to a storeroom where she was ordered to lie on the ground. The father later arrived to find the thieves damaged the surveillance camera and had stolen the digital video recorder (DVR) from his bedroom.

• In Boksburg East, burglars entered a business property, Envirocore, located on the corner of Birnie and Reservoir roads and stole computers sometime between April 26 and 27. The thieves entered the property through one of the windows.

• In Freeway Park thugs entered a house on Constantia Road and stole two TV sets on April 27. Police are looking for two thieves, described as African males driving in a blue Jetta, in connection with the crime.

• In Parkrand a homeowner woke up at about 3am to find burglars stealing his belongings from the house. He pressed the panic button. When security arrived it was discovered the thugs made off with his TV set and laptop. The intruders gained entry through a broken window.

Stolen items are insured.
