Spate of burglaries reported in Boksburg

Below are some of the serious crimes recently reported to the Boksburg police:

Car theft

A Tembisa woman’s Toyota Etios was stolen while parked near the Boksburg North Clinic on Cason Road just before 2pm on April 16. The uninsured car is fitted with a tracking device.

House robbery

In Freeway Park, robbers forced their way into a residential house on Laborie Road, tied up the domestic worker and ransacked her boss’ house on April 18. The stolen goods include meat, a Samsung TV set, an electric kettle, jewellery, pair of sneakers and other items. The stolen goods are not insured.

Fraudulent driver’s licence

An EMPD officer arrested a truck driver he caught driving a truck, using a fraudulent driver’s licence on April 18. It was also found the truck and its trailer’s licence discs had also expired.

Raped

An Angelo informal settlement resident reported she was dragged off the street and raped by a man who looked familiar to her. The woman was on her way to a nearby shop when the rapist confronted her, dragged her to the nearby bushes and raped her.

Burgled

A Sunward Park man woke up on April 20 to find thieves had entered his home on Sonskyn Street and stole his electric kettle and laptop while he was asleep. Thieves forced open the sliding door to enter the house.

In Parkdene, thieves forced their way into the building of a business on Rondebult Road and stole a microwave, sound system and other goods from April 18 to 20.

Also in Parkdene, thugs forced their way into a residential property on Black Street on April 19 and stole two bicycles while the homeowner was asleep. The stolen bicycles are insured.

Thieves entered a property on Lancaster Street and stole a generator, electric appliances and a bin on April 18. The victim found the gate had been forced off the rail and the storeroom door forced opened.

In Freeway Park, a homeowner woke up to his dogs barking as thieves were leaving the property with his belongings during the wee hours of Easter Monday. The thieves, who forced the door open to enter the house, stole a laptop, TV set, amplifier and an iPad.

A Sunward Park woman told police she was awoken by a loud bang as thugs were breaking into her home on Strauss Street at about 4am on April 22. She screamed for help and the thieves ran away. The thieves, however, managed to make off with her belongings from the sitting room. These included a TV set, amplifier and speakers. The stolen goods are not insured.

In Cason, during the Easter weekend, thieves forced their way into a residential property on Cason Road and stole a TV set, electric kettle, microwave, vacuum cleaner, stove, groceries, blankets, shoes and a basket full of clothes. The house was entered through a window.
