Support Slipper Day and help fulfil a child’s dream

With just R10 you can get a Slipper Day wristband and all proceeds will go to Reach For A Dream. The wristband is redeemable for a free Wimpy coffee on May 10.

Slipper Day is upon us again and it’s scheduled to take place on May 10.

It’s a time that calls for South Africans to come together to help the dreams of many children across the country to come into fruition.

Wimpy is again supporting Reach For A Dream (RFAD).

Jacques Cronje, the marketing executive at Wimpy South Africa, said RFAD is one of South Africa’s most treasured charities that has made dreams for children suffering from serious, often terminal, illnesses come true.

“In just over three decades it has touched over three million lives. The foundation gives children the gift of fun and adventure – joyful parts of life they are often denied due to their illness.

“With the support of South Africans, last year Wimpy raised R1.43-million from the sales of Slipper Day bracelets in store and gave away 42 151 free cups of coffees on Slipper Day to all who wore their slippers and presented their wristbands.”

He said Wimpy outlets are geared up and ready for this year’s event and have stocked up on Slipper Day wristbands.

“Supporting Slipper Day is a great pride and joy for Wimpy because children are an important part of the family unit, and our brand is all about celebrating and supporting families.

“We ask all South Africans to come out in numbers in support of this worthy cause,” said Cronje.

Just remember to wear your slippers on Slipper Day to create awareness for the campaign.
