A tip off by members of community to the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members led to the arrest of a man found with various chemicals normally used in the manufacturing of khat and crystal methamphetamine at his place at Impala Park in Boksburg.
This is according to chief superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson.
“The seizure of the chemicals and the arrest took place at 8am on Wednesday, March 27.
“The suspect (40) was also arrested in 2016 on drug-peddling charges.
“He was handcuffed when equipment used in producing drugs including red-phosphates were uncovered from his place in Elizabeth Street. The only chemical found missing to complete the production was Ephedrine.
He was detained at Boksburg North police station. He is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
