The EMPD Special Weapons Attack Team (SWAT) members followed up on information about a person residing in Dawn Park who apparently owns a unlicensed firearm.

“No firearm could be located at the given address,” said Kgasago.

“The SWAT team swooped on the address in Dawn Park on Monday, March 18, around 8am.

“The thorough search of the place only revealed a dozen mandrax tablets, dagga rolled in three big packets as well as dagga plants in the yard.”

“The arrested pair aged 25 and 28 was locked up at Dawn Park police station on charges of possession and suspected distribution of narcotics.  They are expected to appear in the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court soon.”
