A special operation conducted on Monday, March 18 by the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit in Boksburg netted two foreign nationals.
According to chief superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson, they were found in possession of khat and crystal methamphetamine with the street value of nearly R12 000.
“Around 5.45am a resident of Eveleigh Estate in Boksburg was arrested when six ziplocks of crystal meth and three blocks of khat were uncovered from his vehicle with the estimated street value of R10 000,” said Kgasago.
“The man was arrested and charged at Boksburg police station with possession and dealing in narcotics. He is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.”
Kgasago said later on the same morning, a second suspect was arrested at the intersection of Gelofte and Cason roads in Boksburg North when found in possession of four ziplocks of crystal meth and one ziplock of khat.
The suspect was charged at Boksburg North police station with possession and dealing in narcotics.
He is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
