Still no arrest after newborn baby stabbed to death

Details surrounding the attack remain unclear.

It’s been just over 50 days since the newborn baby’s body was found with multiple stab wounds and on Monday police said no arrests had been made.

According to the Reiger Park SAPS spokesperson, Const Jan Mokwana, the case is being investigated by the Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit.

“The FCS is still searching for answers and they are yet to make a breakthrough,” said Mokwana.

Police registered a murder case after Snazo Ndleleni’s body was found attacked in the family’s home in Ramaphosa on January 23.

Mokwana pointed out that when the tragic incident occurred, the baby’s mother was in hospital.

She had left her baby in the care of her family members before she returned home to find that her baby had been stabbed multiple times and died instantly.

Mokwana said any person with information that could give the investigators leads is urged to contact the Reiger Park police.
