Budget has been allocated to fix the Van Dyk Park pool

Consultants are still in the planning phase and construction will start in the next financial year.

The Van Dyk Park swimming pool, which has been closed down for more than 10 years, will soon receive much-needed attention from the metro.

According to Themba Gadebe, metro spokesperson, a budget has been allocated for reconstruction of the pool.

Van Dyk Park residents have raised their frustrations about the abandoned swimming pool.

“The place has become a hiding place for thieves and due to the tall grass, mosquitoes have created a nest there. That place is just terrible,” said one resident.
