Goods seized, wanted suspects detained for robbery in Sunward Park
Suspects were detained at the Elsburg police station and charged with theft and possession of stolen items.
Acting upon information from a credible cluster, Public Order Policing Unit Task Team Members, apprehended two suspects (26) in Elsburg area 11am on Tuesday, January 22.
According to Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD acting spokesperson, they were found with stolen goods following a house robbery/breaking earlier on that day in Boksburg.
“Armed with information, officers moved into a house in Elsburg where a plasma TV, a BMX bicycle, chainsaw, 9kg gas cylinder, CD player and four large cooking pots were recovered,” said Mokheseng.
“Stolen goods worth R10 000 were handed over to a liable owner residing on Pollard road in Sunward Park.
“The home owner mentioned his house was robbed earlier on while there was nobody home.”
They are expected to appear at the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
