Man’s naked body found in Boksburg North

The man was found with no belongings near to identify him.

The body of an unidentified man was found lying on the ground under a tree next to the intersection of Rietfontein and Rondebult roads on January 23.

Vincent Khoza, an acting media liaison officer for Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS), confirmed the discovery.

According to Khoza, Ekurhuleni emergency services members responded to the reports of the unresponsive naked man found in the veld, attended to him and he was certified dead.

His death still remains a mystery.

“He had no visible injuries or trauma. The body was found by the Boksburg North police and they are carrying out an investigation into the death of the man,” said Khoza.

According to information gathered on the scene by freelance reporter Nolufefe Tyhala, the man had been lying in the open uncovered for anywhere between two to three hours.

More onlookers told Tyhala they have seen the man the day before walking around naked.

The Advertiser tried several times to get hold of the Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson, but her phone rang unanswered.
