The suspects are expected to appear in the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court soon.

The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) was tipped off on Wednesday, January 9 about  two persons suspected of dealing in narcotics in Windmill Park.

According to Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson, the DEU members responded swiftly to avert a situation of the narcotics being moved.

“Around 8.45am, a house was swooped upon where ten ziplocks of khat were seized and the two occupants – a man and a woman – were immediately arrested.

“The value of the drugs seized is estimated to be R6 000 on the streets. Cash amounting to R110 suspected to be proceeds from the illicit dealings was also confiscated.”

He said the male (32) and the woman (43) were detained at Dawn Park police station on charges of possession and dealing in narcotics.
