A Nissan N200 bakkie was stolen in the early hours of Friday, December 28 on Loop Street in Boksburg Central and during the same morning an Isuzu LDV was also stolen in Dawn Park.
According to Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson, the EMPD Equestrian Unit was able to locate both vehicles after receiving information from vehicle tracking companies .
“They were recovered in Windmill Park and near Tsakane Mall respectively,” said Kgasago.
He said the white NP200 bakkie was recovered at 6.15am in an open field near a railway line in Windmill Park with the assistance of GPS coordinates provided by the Tracker SA vehicle tracking company.
The second recovery of the white Nissan LDV was just after 8am found near Tsakane Mall in the Brakpan area courtesy of Rent Track vehicle tracking company information.
“Both recovered vehicles were found abandoned. The recovered vehicles were towed to SAPS Van Ryn pound in Benoni for safekeeping and further investigations.”
