Residents advised to use water sparingly amid technical problems at Rand Water

Customers who may experience no water are urged to notify the City through the call centre by calling 086 054 3000 or through social media platforms.

 

Rand Water is experiencing electrical problems at the Palmiet Pumping Station, resulting in a critically low water supply level.

This is according to metro spokesperson, Themba Gadebe, who said the Klipriviersberg Reservoir was at below 20 percent of capacity on Sunday.

“In this light, restrictions on the water network have been applied to alleviate pressure on the reduced capacity, and customers are urged to use water sparingly,” said Gadebe.
