Dawn Park SAPS celebrates 16 Days of Activism camapaign

Yearly the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children runs from November 25 to December 10.

The Dawn Park SAPS held its 16 Days of Activism campaign in conjunction with the EMPD, Families South Africa East Rand, Victims Empowerment Centre (VEC), Khayalabantwana and Carnival Mall on December 3.

They handed out pamphlets on domestic violence in Dawn Park and Windmill Park, encouraging community members to report abuse.

They convoyed to Carnival Mall where relevant stakeholders spoke to shoppers about refraining from withdrawing cases of assault and the importance of reporting any criminal activities.

Seen here are SAPS members, EMPD officers, VEC and Famsa members who came through to spread the word against the violence of women.

Carnival Mall’s centre manager Sandy Turner said: “It was with great pleasure that we were given the opportunity to be part of the campaign.
