SPCA’s cheer fund on a roll with the first batch of donors

While friends, families and loved ones are celebrating, there are always animals behind bars that we tend to forget about.

The Boksburg SPCA finds its kennels overwhelmed during the Christmas and New Year period; thus the Advertiser is again assisting with the fund-raising drive.

The SPCA Christmas Cheer Fund will be running until the end of January, so please continue to help raise much needed funds for our four-legged friends at the Boksburg SPCA.

The purpose of the Christmas Cheer Fund is to raise funds to cater for all the furry critters that need to be fed – Christmas treats were give to all the unfortunate pets behind bars.

The community is encouraged to get involved by honouring past and present pets through pledging donations – no amount is too small – at the society’s premises, in Railway Street, Boksburg; or by depositing it into the bank account: Boksburg SPCA, Absa Bank, Eastlands Branch 630442, account number 4046388139.

Beneficiary reference: Christmas Cheer and your name/anonymous (it’s very important that it be indicated that the payment is for the Christmas Cheer Fund).

Fax a copy of your proof of payment, including your optional short message, to the Boksburg SPCA on 011 916 5908.

Also email the proof of payment, with your short message, to ntombis@caxton.co.za; so that every sponsor (whether it be an individual, school, organisation or a business) can be recognised in the Advertiser.

So far, five people have donated to the fund.

  • The Boksburg SPCA thanks the following individuals, companies and organisations for their contribution:
  • I Sellifan R100 (for Caesar and Pippa).
  • N Cornelius (Ammann) R5000 (for all the animals)
  • Farrah-Lee and Clinton Stroebe R1200
  • Kyle and Matt de Beer R1250
  • Keegan and Bianca Kemo R1180

For more information regarding the fund, contact the SPCA on 011 916 5906/7 or the Advertiser on 087 285 6460.
