A call for divine intervention to combat crime

Other pastors were challenged to go to their local police station and give sermons at least once a week.

Boksburg North SAPS, together with other stakeholders, launched a divine intervention at Volle Evangelie Kerk on November 11.

They were joined by the SANDF, EMPD, EMS, ER24, Chaplin Commission of SA, Search & Rescue Unit, hospital’s personnel and security companies.

Reverend Godfrey Booysen of Ekurhleni Central Cluster Employee Health Wellness, addressed the congregants about the importance of forming the partnership in the fight against crime and using and calling for God’s intervention in the fight against crime.

He also called on all faith-based intervention projects to come on board.

“Being a police officer is not all about the job, but God’s calling as well,” said Booysen.

He also stressed that divine intervention is needed.

Pastor Heymy Damones from Chaplin Commission of SA gave the main sermon, asking God to bless, keep and protect all police on their duties.

He presented a special prayers to all law enforcement agencies in attendance.

Pastor Ben van Staden from MS Chaplin Trauma Support also emphasised the need to have this kind of intervention, saying that this is going to be a culture of honouring all the personnel in uniform.

He said every second week of November they will have this event.
