Be on high alert, rash of vehicle thefts reported in city

The following vehicles were reported stolen in the Boksburg area over the last week:

A Thabazimbi man was left devastated after his Ford Ranger 4×4 was stolen while parked in the parking lot of a church on Jubilee Road, Boksburg South.

The victim told police he parked the vehicle and attended the church service, but when he returned to the parking lot his costly vehicle was gone.

* A Toyota Corolla was stolen from Bert Lacey Drive in Sunward Park on November 15. The owner told police he parked the car on the street and went into the hospital, but when he returned, the car was gone.

* A company-owned silver Polo Vivo was stolen while parked on Krynauw Road in Cason on November 15.

* A Potchefstroom woman was left stranded after her white Volkswagen Citi Golf was stolen while parked outside a property at 188 Landau Road, Boksburg South. The victim told police she parked her car on the pavement at about 3pm on November 14 and just after midnight discovered that it was gone.

* A Benoni man’s daughter’s Honda Ballade was stolen while parked at 247 Rondebult Road in Farrar Park in broad daylight on November 16.

* A maroon Toyota Tazz was stolen from Monk Street, Parkdene, on November 16. The man parked his car and went into a residential house on the street before he returned to the spot to find the car gone.

* A Cason man’s Isuzu bakkie was stolen while parked along Commissioner Street in the Boksburg CBD on November 18. The man left his bakkie at 10.47am, but when he returned to the street about 13 minutes later, the vehicle was nowhere to be found.

* A Hyundai van was recently stolen while parked on Market Street near the civic centre.
