Watch: Car lovers donate generously to SPCA

The Mini Club SA consists of members from Boksburg, Kempton Park, Bedfordview and other areas.

Car enthusiasts, Marco da Costa Dias (founder of Mini Club SA) and Dhanen Pillay (co-founder) with the help of their friends and club members donated tons of dog and cat food to the Boksburg SPCA on November 18.

Kruger and Railway streets were brought to a standstill due to a rainbow of Mini Coopers of all colours which drove to the Boksburg SPCA to deliver food for the furry ones.

The convoy of Mini Coppers commenced at the N17, led by the EMPD to the Boksburg SPCA.

Pillay, who lives in Boksburg, said: “Marco and I thought it would be a great idea to donate to the Boksburg SPCA to make a difference to our four-legged friends.

“We then asked our friends and sponsors to assist in pulling off this charity drive and they were more than happy to donate to this worthy cause.

“For once, as car enthusiasts, we forget about our cars and brought our attention to our four-legged friends.”

Da Costa Dias thanked the sponsors, R Club SA, Herbert and Liebisch, Tuckers Incorporated, Park Veterinary Hospital, Super Sconto, TNB Global, African King Kennels, Salsa Mexican Grill Rivonia, U-Bag & Flying Animals, Paint Trade, Rogers and Devachandar Attorneys, Dyzna Truck Bodies, Jobe Transport, Racewarz, Clandon Pillay Biokinentics, Hi-Tech and RaceSA.

“We would love to thank everyone that came through to the first of many Mini Club SA charity runs.”
