Cook and Culture: Add a little sparkle to your full programme

With school exams, year-end functions and Christmas parties, calendars are full and purses are empty. Luckily, the more you have to do the more you get done, and the Advertiser has a few small tips to help things go more smoothly and add a little sparkle to your full programme.

Pro tip

Try not to CC unnecessary people in emails. Make sure the email is sent to those who really need to read it, not just added in the mail to fill inboxes and prove to the entire company that you are working.

It is important to take care of personal hygiene, especially when you are working with a lot of people, ladies and gentlemen, keep your hair and nails clean and presentable. Don’t overkill with perfume of cologne. Keep it classy.

Pro tip: Keep those hands neat and clean

Home remedy

Epsom salt to soak your sorrows. Sprinkle Epsom salt on your grass for a lush green lawn, bath in Epsom salt to relax stiff muscles and rub on your body to soften and get rid of dead skin.

Breakfast Bomb

To make sure the children enjoy their oats before an exam, transform a boring bowl of oats into something delicious by adding some chocolate chips.

Exciting oats!

For a delicious weekend breakfast here is an easy egg recipe:

You can enjoy these eggs to cure the blues or just because (if you don’t like chilli just leave it out)

(Serves 2)

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small clove garlic (peeled) or garlic flakes

¼ teaspoon dried chilli flakes

Salt and pepper to flavour.

1x 400g can chopped tomatoes

4 eggs

3 teaspoon grated Parmesan or cheddar

Method:

Heat the frying pan with olive oil and garlic, add the chilli flakes. Keep over medium heat for about 2 minutes. Add the can of tomatoes and salt and let it bubble, when hot crack in the eggs add salt and pepper. Place a lid on it.

When the eggs are cooked to your liking, sprinkle the cheese over and let it melt. Leave to bubble for a few more minutes, but make sure to keep an eye on it, it is already hot, don’t let it burn.

Remove from heat and serve, sprinkle with more cheese and chilli oil and serve with toast of ciabatta on the side.

These eggs are on fire!
