Five shacks burnt to the ground in Angelo

The incident comes shortly after shacks were burnt down at Angelo’s informal settlement on September 5.

Five shacks were burnt to the ground in Angelo on October 28 leaving families homeless.

According to Daine Jones from the Ekurhuleni Emergency Services, the fire started just after 7pm. Firefighters managed to put out the blaze before it spread to other shacks.

“At the moment we don’t know what started the fire. We have handed the matter over to the SAPS for further investigations,” Jones said.

No injuries were reported.
